SWITCHING NOW TO WDSU. FIRST WARNING WEATHER AND WE’VE GOT ANOTHER IMPACT DAY TO COME TOMORROW. IT’S FOR THE HEAT MAINLY, BUT YOU COULD SEE IF YOU GOT SOME SERIOUS STORMS AND YOU GET SOME LOCAL FLOODING. THAT’S ALSO AN IMPACT. AND I WANT TO SHOW THIS VIEW BECAUSE WE HAVE STARTED TO FIND STORMS THAT ARE GOING TO BE CLOSING IN HERE IN NEW ORLEANS, MAYBE SOON, BECAUSE THOSE STORMS NORTHEAST, PUTTING OUT SUCH COOL AIR FROM SUCH INCREDIBLE RAIN RATES COMING DOWN. I WANT TO SHOW YOU DOPPLER RADAR. FIRST, WE’RE GOING TO TAKE OFF THE LIGHTNING BECAUSE, I MEAN, THAT’S A LOT OF CLUTTER. IT SHOWS 600 STRIKES AT TIMES. JUST OVER THE LAST TEN MINUTES. AND THAT’S JUST IN THIS WINDOW WHERE I’M SHOWING YOU THESE STORMS. NOW WE’VE GOT FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS THAT ARE IN DARK RED OUTLINED BOXES IN THE LIGHT GREEN, OR FLOOD ADVISORIES. THESE ARE SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENTS FOR GUSTY WINDS. BUT LOOK AT THIS. WE EVEN HAVE STORMS BACK BUILDING INTO WASHINGTON PARISH, SAINT TAMMANY PARISH, THAT’S THE OUTFLOW BOUNDARY RIGHT THERE. AND I’M GOING TO SHOW YOU THE BACK BUILD OF THOSE STORMS. NOW FROM THE TWIN SPAN AND EASING INTO POSSIBLY NEW ORLEANS EAST IN MICHOUD. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT AGAIN, A LOT OF LIGHTNING WITH THIS. AND THERE’S THE CHANCE THAT WE BACK BUILD MORE STORMS AS WE GET INTO THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. SO DON’T BE SURPRISED IF WE FIND SOME STORMS THAT ARE COMING IN FROM AN UNUSUAL PLACE NORTHEAST. THE SOUTHWEST, ALL DUE TO THOSE SERIOUS STORMS AGAINST SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENTS WITH IT. IF YOU’RE IN PEARL RIVER, HANco*ck COUNTY IN MISSISSIPPI, BEWARE. YOU COULD ALSO HAVE SOME GUSTY WINDS 40MPH TO 87. STILL, AT LAKEFRONT. AND IT’S 83 OFFICIALLY HERE IN NEW ORLEANS. RAIN COOLED AIR BOGALUSA 7683 BELLE CHASSE FEELS LIKE 94. FEELS LIKE 101 AROUND THE LAKE RIGHT NOW. I WANT TO JUMP RIGHT INTO THE FORECAST TO GIVE YOU THE BEST INFORMATION AS YOU’RE GETTING BACK TO WORK TOMORROW, SO JUST NOT MUCH GOING ON FOR US THERE REALLY AREN’T BIG FEATURES SPARKING STORMS EVERY DAY. IT’S JUST THE HEAT. BIG BUBBLE OF HEAT EXTENDS WEST. ANOTHER ONE WRAPS AROUND TO THE CARIBBEAN. THE OLD BERMUDA HIGH. LOOK AT THE INCREDIBLE SOUTH FLOW, BRINGING IN ALL THE HUMIDITY. YOU PUT TOGETHER THE HEAT, THE HUMIDITY AND STORMS JUST BLOW UP BY THEMSELVES WITH THE HEAT OF THE DAY. WE CALL THAT CONVECTIVE TEMPERATURE. THAT FORECAST DOES PRETTY WELL WITH THE LINEUP OF STORMS, EARLY STORMS TOMORROW MORNING COULD FIRE ALONG THE COAST. THE OCEAN BREEZE COMING IN FIRST FROM 75 TO BOGALUSA 80 BOOTHVILLE 82 GRAND ISLE TOMORROW MORNING 85 AROUND THE LAKE. NOTICE THAT COVINGTON, MANDEVILLE, NEW ORLEANS, LAKEFRONT AND LAKE VIEW SOME STORMS AROUND THE COAST, THEIR MORNING HOURS, BUT MORE NUMEROUS STORMS BLOWING UP DURING THE DAY GOT ABOUT A 60% CHANCE. WE GET STORMS TOMORROW UP TO 9493. HAMMOND 92 BELLE CHASSE. BUT FACTOR IN HUMIDITY. FEELING LIKE 108 111 112. THAT’S WHY THE HEAT ADVISORY IN EARLIER TODAY AROUND THE LAKE. EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS BECAUSE YESTERDAY SPIKED A HEAT INDEX OF 115. WE’LL SEE IF THAT HAPPENS TOMORROW. I THINK FEWER STORMS COMING INTO TUESDAY. BUT THE TAKEAWAY HERE IS I STILL HAVE RAIN GEAR WITH YOU ALL THIS WEEK. DAILY STORMS POSSIBLE, BUT FINDING WAYS TO KEEP COOL OUT OF THE DIRECT SUN. IF YOU’RE ONE OF THOSE THAT WORKS OUTSIDE YOU GOT TO FIND FREQUENT BREAKS AND YOU GOT TO FIND SOME SHADE. EVENTUALLY, THIS FRONT COMES IN, PUTS AN END TO THE HEAT, IS MORE NUMEROUS STORMS WILL COME IN. JUST A QUICK LOOK AT THE TROPICS. NOTHING GOING ON OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. WDSU FIRST WARNING WEATHER, SEVEN DAY FORECAST. WE’VE GOT HEAT ADVISORIES TOMORROW. I EXPECT HIM TO CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY IMPACT DAYS,

Dangerous heat and chances of scattered storms continue through much of the week in your New Orleans weather forecast.YOUR LOCAL FORECAST:Temperatures will remain very warm around the lake tonight. Morning "lows" have only been down to 85 the last two at Lakefront Airport! Elsewhere, morning temps will start out around 77 give or take a few degrees depending upon where you live. We're set for another very hot day where it could be downright dangerous if you're in the direct sun for any lengthy time. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 am until 7 pm for much of Southeast Louisiana, but an Excessive Heat Warning for areas close to the lake shore where heat index values on Saturday reached up to 115! Again the Excessive Heat Warning is only for those around and closest to the lake shore. This will also be a WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Day too.Scattered storms are possible from a combination of reaching the temperature at which storms could spontaneously form (the convective temperature) and late/ocean breezes.Actual high temps will range from around 90 to 96, but the heat index could be over 113 close to the lake, and up to 112 elsewhere.Tuesday... is just like what we've been through this weekend and what I expect for Monday as well. It will be dangerously hot with scattered storms. It will also be a WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Day too.I expect the heat and storms to go through Thursday until a cold front nears by Thursday night enhancing rain chances and fading out across the region on Friday bringing in numerous storms that will quell the heat.TROPICS:The best news in this forecast is that there is NOTHING forecast in the way of tropical activity in the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Greater Atlantic Basin over the next 7 days!SEVEN DAY FORECAST:Here's your seven day forecast:Be safe, stay cool, have a good night and make it a great week ahead!- Devon
